Summary: Join us for the South Dakota Virtual Instructor Workshop, an interactive and engaging session designed for current and aspiring EMS instructors. This free workshop will explore the growing need for high-quality instructor training and provide participants with practical tools and resources to succeed. Attendees will receive guidance on initial and continuing education requirements for South Dakota instructors, explore the Ninth Brain learning management system (available through SDEMSA), discover best practices for student success, and learn how to integrate AI into EMS education. Participants will also hear a major announcement from the SDEMSA IC Society. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in teaching EMS or delivering continuing education.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of instructor training in EMS education and understand the current push for qualified instructors in South Dakota.
  • Navigate and utilize the Ninth Brain learning management system to support student learning and track course progress.
  • Identify the requirements and best practices for initial EMS instructor education in South Dakota.
  • Describe opportunities and guidelines for continuing education as an EMS instructor.
  • Implement strategies and tools to help EMS students succeed, including engagement techniques and instructional best practices.
  • Integrate artificial intelligence tools to enhance EMS education delivery.
  • Stay informed about new developments and announcements from the SDEMSA IC Society.
